After a successful career as an engineer, I followed one of my greatest passions: wine. I worked for one of Portugal’s largest wineries while managing a small family production, a period that allowed me to reconnect with my roots.

Over time, however, I realized that what truly inspired me was traveling, meeting people, sharing stories, and introducing others to the culture, history, gastronomy, and wines of Portugal. This led me to become a tour guide and eventually create PBH – Portugal By Heart, a project dedicated to designing authentic, personalized, and unforgettable experiences throughout the country.

I was born in the Douro region and lived in Porto all my life but I've been traveling around Portugal (Madeira and Azores Islands, included) since childhood and I've uncovered countless places of incredible natural and historic beauty. Everything I do, I do it from the heart and that's why I decided to name my tour's agency PBH - Portugal By Heart, pun intended.

I'm Luís, a passionate young man, studying videogame design with a background in light and sound design. I'm a true Tripeiro, which is the term for people born in Porto. With a love for the arts and creativity, I'm constantly immersed in the world of design and storytelling.

Living in Porto has allowed me to explore the city's history, uncovering its hidden gems and shortcuts, a skill I learned since my childhood, in walks with my father that I now share with my friends. Like any proud Portuguese, I find joy in life's simple pleasures and am always on the lookout for new culinary experiences, as well as places to enjoy a nice break. From traditional Portuguese dishes to international cuisines, I know all the best places to eat in Porto.
